Scheduled to continue through the week, a multidisciplinary team has campaigned to clean the Durban Central Business District taxi ranks.

The Al Ihsan Teaching Training Academy and the ‘Youth of the Ummah’ (YOU) of Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre facilitated successful programmes at various schools across the greater Durban area throughout 24-31 July.

On Thursday, 27 July, the Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre’s Islamic counselling department Guideline – together with the Darul Ihsan youth developments programme, Daughters of the Ummah – hosted a successful event at Orient Islamic School.

During the month of July, the Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre conducted several successful feeding schemes through the ‘Feed the Needy’ initiative.

On Thursday, 27 July, the Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre’s Islamic counselling department Guideline – together with the Daughters of the Ummah youth group – hosted a successful event at Orient Islamic School.

Following the recent demolition of an illegal tavern that had been operating on Lancers Road, Greyville, Municipal spokesperson Lindiwe Khuzwayo has stated that the eradication of problem buildings is part of the City’s plan for a safer city.

Amid the youth employment crisis the country faces, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi – in partnership with UberEats South Africa – seeks to provide 10,000 young people with jobs.

Keeping the lights on at Randburg Library

Nestle Bar One’s #needenergy campaign saw the first fruits of labour recently, with Randburg Library receiving an alternative energy supply source from the city.

On Tuesday, 18 July, the Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre Relief Team visited the Lamas Daycare Centre in Newlands East, Durban, donating blankets and snack packs to the children during this winter season.

As part of the Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre Relief Team’s ongoing outreach to serving impoverished communities, three creches were visited in and around the north of Durban this cold season.
