Nestle Bar One’s #needenergy campaign saw the first fruits of labour recently, with Randburg Library receiving an alternative energy supply source from the city.
“The city was elated when approached to identify a library where they could install an alternative energy supply source to enable library patrons to access and use the library during load shedding,” MMC for Community Development, Lubabalo Magwentshu, said. “The collaboration contributes to the city’s Sustainable Development Goal at forming partnerships.”
Nestle’s ‘Light Up The Library’ initiative is committed to assisting students across the country that rely on library services even during periods of load shedding. Randburg Library is the first to have benefited from this drive, and there are hopes that many more will be recognised by their cities in the coming future.
