During the month of July, the Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre conducted several successful feeding schemes through the ‘Feed the Needy’ initiative.
Over 4500 hot meals in total were distributed in Newlands West, Sea Cow Lake, Quarry Road East, and Durban South areas, respectively.
The initiatives were met with large numbers of both children and adults, and were received with appreciation.
With the help of staff and volunteers, these feeding schemes take places several times a week in which hot, packed meals are distributed to members of informal settlements and anyone in the surrounding areas in need. Through the generous contributions from the Muslim community, the Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre can continue these projects.
Those looking to be a part of the scheme may contact the Darul Ihsan Centre on 031 577 7868 for more information.
