Following the mixed reactions online concerning the closure of popular tourist attractions on the beachfront this year, Thapelo Mmusinyane – Head of Real Estate in eThekwini – stated on an East Coast Radio segment that this action is an essential step towards the municipality’s ambitious new plans for the Durban promenade.
Thapelo said, “The aim is for us to better what we already have. We are working closely with Circus Circus, Bike & Bean, and Mini Town owners to find better solutions, as they were sitting on prime location to which we feel we need to manage properly.”
These changes aim to improve the beachfront experience for tourists and beachgoers alike.
