Following the recent demolition of an illegal tavern that had been operating on Lancers Road, Greyville, Municipal spokesperson Lindiwe Khuzwayo has stated that the eradication of problem buildings is part of the City’s plan for a safer city.

“The vision is to improve public spaces and create a more pleasant environment to work in, promote safety, improve the market value properties, attract investment, promote tourism and improve the city’s rates base,” Khuzwayo said.

These incentives will include signage opportunities, fast tracking of applications, as well as rates and tax incentives.
