On Thursday, 27 July, the Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre’s Islamic counselling department Guideline – together with the Daughters of the Ummah youth group – hosted a successful event at Orient Islamic School.
Over 20 Muslimahs in matric attended the event, which sought to offer support, motivation, and tips on navigating life while also being mindful of one’s religion. This included helpful advice on mastering the balance of objectives between both worlds, how to remain productive, as well as other practical tips.
The attendees were advised on how to choose the correct company they keep, and the importance of fostering sisterhood. Additionally, the importance of one’s identity, value of learning, what the trend of self-care truly entails, and the sharpening of soft skills was also discussed.
The hour-long programme closed with a quiz and Q&A session. The attendees showed great interest in the topics and themes of the event, and enjoyed the relevance of it to common youth challenges.
