Thousands of people took to the streets in cities across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia on Saturday in support and solidarity for the Palestinian people.
In London, with a turnout of 50,000-70,000 people, protesters marched through the city demanding Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to call for a ceasefire. However, Sunak’s government instead called for humanitarian pauses in order to allow aid to reach the civilians in Gaza.
Turkish president Tayyip Erdogan spoke in support for Palestine during a large rally in Istanbul. In Baghdad, Iraqis partook in a rally as well. Palestinian protesters in Hebron, West Bank, called for a global boycott of Israeli products.
The streets of Copenhagen, Rome, Stockholm, and Paris were also filled with supporters for Palestine. In Wellington, New Zealand, thousands of people marched to Parliament House with placards that read “Free Palestine”.
