For vehicle licences that expired in September and October 2023, Shoprite has announced a renewal service at a discounted price.

Following the Road Traffic Management Corporation’s (RTMC) decision to penalise licence holders for expired licences that are not renewed on time, Shoprite is offering a renewal service for a discounted fee of R185.

“Motorists must apply online and can pay either online or in-person at the Money Market counter in any of the 1,350 Shoprite, Checkers and Usave stores nationwide,” the retailer said.

“With soaring living costs, times are tough for consumers. We hope to provide some relief by reducing the cost of car licence renewals and providing a hassle-free process that can be completed in just a few easy steps.”
