The devastating floods that struck Libya last month claimed thousands of lives, homes, and businesses. However, in an effort to restore the city of Derna, a youth group under the name “Derna Campaign with the Endeavor of its Youth” has taken it upon themselves to revitalise destroyed homes and stores.

Café and barber shop owner Abubaker Mansuri said, “Today the café was cleaned by the Derna Campaign with the Endeavour of its Youth campaign. The truth is, it is a tremendous effort despite the limited capabilities. Today, as a gesture to the return of life to the city, we provided free coffee as a form of assistance and morale booster in return for what these young people are doing.”

Through the great adversity those affected face, the youth of Derna are committed to rebuilding their communities and rising above the struggles upon them.
