In an effort to assist jobseekers in the province, the KZN Transport Department has initiated a programme aimed at helping unemployed individuals acquire a driver’s license more efficiently. This is to help improve their employment opportunities.
The Thuthuka Driving Skills Programme is expected to benefit over 3,000 individuals, and offers free learner’s and driving licences from Codes 8-14.
“Possessing a driver’s license significantly enhances employment opportunities across various sectors. The department is also collaborating with driving schools to facilitate the programme’s implementation,” said the Transport, Community Safety, and Liaison MEC, Sipho Hlomuka.
The required form can be accessed on the Department’s website at http://www.kzntransport.gov.za/. By navigating to the Electronic Reading Room on the left sidebar, selecting “Forms”, and choosing the “Thuthuka Skills Development Programme Application Form”, the file is available to download and fill in.
The deadline for applications is 17 October 2023.
