DURBAN: eThekwini Municipal Libraries is piloting a new loyalty points programme where members can earn rewards for reading.

Every time a member borrows books from any of the affiliated libraries, they will be rewarded with Read for Rewards points.

These points will remain on the users’ profile until they have accumulated enough points to qualify for a prize.

Registration to join the programme is free and is running from September through to December.

Once complete, the programme will be evaluated and rolled out at all Municipal libraries.

Currently the programme is being piloted at La Lucia, Verulam, oThongathi Central, Caneside, Amaoti, Stonebridge, Ntuzuma, Hillcrest, Durban North, Newlands West, Mpumalanga, Wyebank, Umnini, Galleria, Umkomaas, uMlazi W, Isipingo Civic, Grosvenor, Central Lending, Musgrave, Chesterville Extension, Montford, Woodhurst, Dassenhoek, New Germany, Clermont, Westville, Umbilo, Windermere, and Prince Edward Street.
