Tuesday, 24 Oct 23: Ustad Zaffar Ahmed visited Darul Ihsan Centre and held a short meeting with the Director, Mufti Zubair Bayat. Ustad Zaffar Ahmed is a founding member and Chair of the Global Association of Islamic Schools (GAIS) and Principal of Al Falah College (AFC), Durban. Recently the 2nd international conference of GAIS was held in Durban, hosted by Ustad Zaffar and his coordinating team. Scores of international delegates comprising of accomplished educationists, scholars and administrators from numerous countries accross the globe attended the 3 day meeting, held at Coastlands conference centre in Durban. Key note lectures and informative presentations were delivered throughout the conference by highly acclaimed speakers. The delegates were also taken out on an outreach excursion to visit neighbouring localities and experience first hand the challenge of poverty facing the local population. This was undertaken via two NGOs, the Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre and Human Aid.
Ustad Zaffar was taken on a quick tour of the Darul Ihsan Centre. Mufti Bayat then introduced him to the learners of the Al Ihsan Muslim School (AIMS), a project of Darul Ihsan Centre, and requested him to address them for a few minutes. In his short but impactful address, he emphasised the importance of learners deriving maximum benefit from this opportunity to study at such an institution. Two important advices were given to the learners: respect your parents and respect your teachers and obey Allah and obey your parents, and you will achieve great success in this world and the next world.
The learners at AIMS had also completed a Qur’an recitation for the oppressed people of Gaza and Palestine, which culminated in dua by Mufti Zubair Bayat.
