The Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre (DHC) was given the privilege of hosting delegates attending the Global Alliance of Islamic Schools (GAIS) Retreat in Durban, South Africa.
The delegates included Professor Recep Senturk from Turkey, Ulama from India, Pakistan and Zambia, as well as guests from Nigeria, the United Kingdom, the United States, and other various countries.
The guests attended a brief overview of the organisation’s activities, followed by an interactive session with Mufti Zubair Bayat, Ameer of Darul Ihsan Centre. The attendees showed great interest embarking on partnership programmes and accessing materials of programmes run by Darul Ihsan.
Later, the delegates visited Masjid Bilal; a centre in a nearby locality in which several projects under the auspices of Darul Ihsan are co-ordinated. Here, they were given the opportunity to meet with revert Muslims of the ‘Learn the Deen’ programme and were also afforded the chance to listen to recitation by young learners of the Siyapambili Madrasah - an elementary madrasah wing of Darul Ihsan. Groceries and other goodies were presented by the guests to participating recipients.
The programme concluded with the delegates expressing their appreciation for the rich and fulfilling experience that Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre provided them with the less fortunate.
